Episode 61: Who Ya Gonna Call? Ghost-Gunners! A discussion on So-Called “Ghost-Guns”

Who ya gonna call?

The antis have a new target besides “A-Salt Weppenz”. We always knew they would, and now we know what it is.

It’s the home-built gun, the do-it-yourself gun. The antis want to prevent us from being able to do what many people throughout the history of this country have done: build our own firearms. Yes, this is a time-honored activity in our country, and lots of people do so. People do this with various types of firearms.

But the antis want to demonize that now, by calling our home-builds by a new negative-marketing term. That term is, “ghost guns”. California officials have even home builds effectively illegal, and the antis now want to make that nationwide. Given the anti-2A majorities currently in the Congress, and the anti-2A current Presidential Administration, this could actually happen. We’ve got to make it clear that we’ll be watching in 2022.

What we do this time is deconstruct, dissect, and debunk their pseudo-arguments against home-built guns. We did it with Eric “Fast ‘N’ Furious” Holder. We did it with Hollywood’s “suggestions” for how to portray firearms. And now we do it with the one who first coined the term “ghost gun”…California State Senator Kevin de Leon. The antis at the Federal level are using his pseudo-arguments to try to push a Federal-level ban.

As always, we present a distinct case for our position and argue with facts…and we mean actual facts here at the Liberal’s Gun Corner.

This is a right, not a privilege.

Episode 58: A case for Liberals, Especially Racial Minorities, to Support Constitutional Carry…ESPECIALLY NOW!!

And you really think we don’t need guns? Let’s see you face this guy and his pals without one!

Tennessee may become the 19th State to enact “Constitutional Carry”. That means you don’t need a permit from the government to carry a gun. That’s how it used to be before the end of the Civil War and the Black Codes. Constitutional Carry–also known as Vermont Carry since Vermont’s been doing it for 230 years now–is celebrated by some, but it’s got some others concerned. Some of those folks are racial minorities…specifically, Black Americans in Memphis.

I would like to present my case, as a Liberal, for why Constitutional Carry is actually a very good thing, especially for us racial minorities. Especially for Liberals. So, you’re going to get, well, the “Minority Report” here on Constitutional Carry! 🙂

We also go into perhaps why so many of us Liberals don’t have much problem voting for those who promote gun control. I think I have a reasonably good understanding of why that happens, so we cover that topic, too.

Episode 09: The Benefits of Making Your Own Ammo, and Why It Matters

We remember the “Great Ammo Rush of 2009”, four years ago?  Well, it seems we’re in a repeat of it, the “Great Ammo Rush of 2013”.  Just try finding any .223 Remington, for example.  Good luck!  What do we do?

That’s where hand-loading comes in.  We talk about the benefits of, and the reasons for, doing it.  There are several, and you all would do well to consider the hobby, for all of these reasons.  This is a right, folks, and we don’t have to ask permission from government to do it.  Demonstration videos on how to do this are available at my Web site, http://www.sanfranciscoliberalwithagun.com/.

We also finish “story time”.  It’s a warning to us all what happens when we let our rights gradually slip away.  We conclude “Sundown at Coffin Rock”, written by Raymond K. Paden, and which first appeared in Dillon’s “Blue Press” in the 1990’s.  It’s a warning that we all would do very well to heed.

Episode 06: The Case for the Private Face-To-Face Firearms Transaction

Every time there’s a shooting of some sort that makes the news, there’s this call for “closing down” something that the Bradys and their allies call, “the gun show loophole”.  What they’re really talking about has nothing whatsoever to do with gun shows, but it does have everything to do with something called the “private, face-to-face, intra-state transaction” of firearms, better known as the “private sale”.  They want to shut that down and require “background checks” for every gun sale, including the private ones.

“It won’t be a big burden!”, they claim.   “It’ll stop criminals while respecting the Second Amendment!”, they claim.

This entire episode is my case for why that is a terrible idea.  Contrary to what they say, it would indeed prove a HUGE burden on not only just government, but everyone else involved.  It certainly won’t stop crime-related injuries or deaths.  It might even itself get people killed.  And it would be a major blow to the defense of liberty.

Episode 05: The “Evil Gun Lobby”, and Attacking Bigotry

The forces against the Second Amendment–the “antis”–like to refer to something called, “The Evil Gun Lobby“. They try to give the impression that the Big, Bad NRA is THE “special interest” behind the pro-2A movement. The antis do this to try to demonize what we, as citizens who care about freedom, do to preserve that freedom. We’re going to talk about the Evil Gun Lobby and just what it is. You may be surprised.

In the second half, we do a slice ‘n’ dice job on the idea that bigotry and religious/racial discrimination are somehow “OK”. Of course, they’re not. To do this, we dissect a call-in that I made into a Conservative talking-head’s show, and we show just how and why arguing for a repeat of Jim Crow is just plain wrong…and un-American.

Bigotry has no place in a civilized society. Whatever happened to “the content of one’s character”?

Episode 01: What is a Liberal, really?

This being a Liberal’s Gun Corner, we’re going to talk about that.  The description, “Liberal” can mean several things to different sets of people.  To some, it means the Democrats and their platform.  To others, it means fiscal and moral irresponsibility, socialism, and not taking responsibility for one’s own life.  To yet others, it means other things.

In this podcast, our very first, we tackle that very question, and you may be surprised by what you hear.  This is my statement of what Liberalism is and my case for it.  We won’t always agree on this show, perhaps most of all in this first one.  But it’s irresponsible to attempt to go forward if we don’t define our basic concept of what Liberalism is.  Here, we basically set the tone for what this Liberal’s Gun Corner is going to be about.  Hopefully you’ll consider the case we make here, with an open mind.

Some of you maybe have already listened to this pilot of the show from the Gun Rights Radio Network’s main website. But we are reporting this episode here on the new home for the Liberal Gun Corner so that we can get the iTunes feed up and running. Once we have the feed up and running we will make an announcement here so that you can subscribe directly to that feed. We will also have a Microsoft Zune feed and just a generic RSS feed.

Received an update the other day from the host (Cowboy T) in which he stated he has now acquired some better recording equipment and has started planning out the first several episodes of the show. Now I just need to get this website completed so the show has a home.

Thank you for all of you that left us feedback about the new show. It was almost all positive and we are very pleased with the response. We are now both pretty excited about bring the show to you. But please continue to leave us feedback and constructive criticism. So that we can continue to improve.
